Under God???

So, who knew that the pledge of allegiance was altered in the 1950's to add the words "under god". Yes, thats right, before the 1950's the pledge did not include "under god"!!!!

Congress amended the pledge in the 1950's during the Mccarthy communism hearings as a response to those godless communists. isnt that amazing?????

God is not mentioned in the constitution because the founders of our country wanted a secular government, untied to any religion. Lets change the pledge back to its original form.

The problem I see with the words "under god" as stated in or pledge of allegiance is that when these words were added they were referring to the god of the founding fathers exclusively and in my opinion tangentially anointing that specific god as the most righteous. Similarly, "in god we trust" is that same most righteous god. Since I believe that the term god should refer more to a concept of awe, morality and humility, I accept these god references only because they have gone through my deity filter.
